Learning outcomes
Tasks of the discipline are aimed at the student’s acquiring the following competencies: the collection, analysis and generalization of materials on the legal regulation of copyright relations in the IT field; communicate freely, demonstrate scientific knowledge and express a personal reasoned position on the interpretation of certain provisions of copyright law, resolve disputes over copyright protection in the IT field, critically evaluate scientific hypotheses, the practice of the current legislation, formulate personal scientific positions on debatable issues in the field of copyright protection, taking into account the peculiarities of the IT sphere; prepare drafts of the acts of copyright application in accordance with the legal conclusion made while resolving controversial issues of copyright protection in the IT field; provide advice on identifying possible ways to protect copyright in the IT field.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Prerequisites for mastering the discipline: 1. To know the legal basis for the formation and development of relations in the field of copyright; problems of the legal support of creative activity results protection as intangible goods, acts of the legislation regulating copyright relations in the IT sphere. 2. To be able to evaluate and apply modern information technology in research, search and critical analysis of information to determine the role and objectives of copyright protection in the IT field. 3. To have basic skills in drafting legal documents, considering the specifics of the practical situation and using legal methods to solve scientific problems arising in the field of copyright protection in the IT field.
Course content
The "Copyright Protection in the IT Field" discipline is a part of the specialists’ professional training cycle of the educational level "Bachelor" in "Law" at the Education and Research Law School of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. The main components of the discipline are the formation of competencies aimed at demonstrating the knowledge and understanding of the basic categorical apparatus of copyright, the ability to apply the provisions of scientific doctrine, copyright legislative norms while solving problems, disputes that arise in legal relations regarding the use of copyright in the IT sphere and substantiate their own legal positions; the ability to critically and systematically analyze controversial situations, prepare drafts of legal opinions, acts of law enforcement, consultations on choosing possible ways to protect copyright in the IT sphere.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The study of the discipline includes lectures, seminars; polls (express survey)/testing/essay (reference paper) on the proposed topic; module tests; self-study, individual assignments; credit.
Assessment methods and criteria
Types of ongoing performance evaluation include: expresssurvey, report, scientific paper, testing (multiple choice tests), case solving (tasks), module test (final test).
Things to be assessed in the process of ongoing performance evaluation are: the level of knowledge demonstrated by the student during seminars, the level of activity in discussing the issues of the seminar, systematic work in the classroom, self-study and individual assignments results. The discipline is taught for one semester. 10 days before the beginning of the session, the teacher running the seminars no longer accepts missing assignments. Students who have not scored the minimum threshold level of assessment are given a final test.
