Learning outcomes
Identify the prerequisites for reforming labor legislation, current theoretical and practical aspects of its codification, taking into account international standards and current trends in labor regulation. Consider the problems of implementation of international labor standards in national legislation. Describe the matter of the fundamental principles of international labor law. Describe the features of reforming certain institutions of labor law. Analyze and critically comprehend the existing legal norms and provisions of draft regulations in the field of labor. Develop proposals for improving specific provisions of labor legislation, taking into account international labor standards and existing scientific concepts.
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know the conceptual approaches to understanding the system and principles of law, theoretical and methodological bases of distinguishing between different branches of law and legislation. Be able to independently summarize and study the scientific literature, make own sound conclusions based on the study of legislation and conceptual provisions of the doctrine. Possess the skills to critically analyze the provisions of legislation and draft laws.
Course content
Formation and development of labor legislation: historical and legal aspects. Problems of development of labor legislation of independent Ukraine. The matter and issues of implementation of the fundamental principles of international labor law. Issues of legal regulation of employment in Ukraine. Issues of improving the legal regulation of the employment contract as a basis for the labor relations. Atypical labor relations. Legal issues of reforming the legislation regulating working conditions. Issues of legal regulation of labor rights protection. Legal mechanism for combating discrimination in the field of labor. The concept of decent work as a basis for reforming labor legislation in the modern period.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Verbal: lecture, explanation, discussion, analysis of regulations and provisions of projects in the field of labor regulation Visual: illustration, demonstration Practical: analysis of drafts in the field of legal regulation of labor, practical tasks, preparation of analytical documents.
Assessment methods and criteria
The maximum final grade for this course is 100 points. A student can receive a maximum of 60 points in the final test (credit), to which the points obtained during seminars are added. To obtain an overall positive grade in the discipline, the grade for the final test cannot be less than 36 points. If the student scored less than 36 points, the latter are not added to the semester grade (regardless of the number of points obtained during the semester), and the information in the “exam scores” column is “0”, respectively, only the number of points obtained during the semester is transferred to the “resulting grade” column. If the number of points received by the student during the semester is more than 40 points, in fact, only 40 points are credited.
