Course content
Discipline forms in students the idea of random variables and their distributions, the basic principles of probability theory. Provides basic knowledge of the general patterns of planning biological experiments, the formation of sample statistical populations and mechanisms for their classification. Particular attention is paid to the main criteria for the reliability of statistical evaluation and testing of statistical hypotheses, methods of analysis of numerical and non-numerical data.
The course gives an idea of modern software tools for computer analysis of biological data.
