Learning outcomes
Understand key chemical concepts, basic facts, concepts, principles and theories related to the natural, life and earth sciences, as well as chemical technologies at a level sufficient for their professional application and to enable further in-depth understanding of specialized areas of chemistry . Understand the basic patterns and types of chemical reactions and their characteristics. Understand the relationship between the structure and properties of substances. Analyze and evaluate data, synthesize new ideas related to chemistry and its applied applications. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of basic facts, concepts, principles and theories in chemistry. Monitor and analyze scientific sources of information and professional literature.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know the basics of general, inorganic analytical, organic and physical chemistry. To be able to statistically process the obtained results. Have the skills to work with various sources of information.
Course content
The main attention of the course is given to the main stages of sample preparation and separation of microcomponents by the method of extraction, classification of extraction systems; properties, requirements, classification of organic extraction solvents; specifics, methods and conditions of extraction separation of inorganic microcomponents, organic substances; study of modern technical implementations of extraction sample preparation and separation - micellar, fluid and microextraction. The course covers tasks and basics of sorption separation of microcomponents, main types of sorbents; specificity of separation by covalently modified and adsorption modified sorbents. Study of theoretical foundations, laws and methods of using alternative methods of sample preparation and separation.

Assessment methods and criteria
Semester control includes 3 control papers, assessment of independent work on essay preparation. Evaluation is carried out according to the 100-point system. The maximum/minimum number of points that can be obtained by a student during the semester evaluation is 60 points/36 points. The final assessment is conducted in the form of an exam. The maximum/minimum number of points that can be obtained by a student on the exam is 40 points/24 points.
