"P01. Understand key chemical concepts, basic facts, concepts, principles and theories related to the natural, life and earth sciences, as well as chemical technologies at a level sufficient for their professional application and to enable further in-depth understanding of specialized areas of chemistry . P02. Understand the basics of mathematics at a level sufficient to achieve the other learning outcomes provided for in this standard and the curriculum. P04. Understand the basic patterns and types of chemical reactions and their characteristics. P05. Understand the relationship between the structure and properties of substances. P08. Know the principles and procedures of physical, chemical, physico-chemical research methods, typical equipment and devices. P09. Plan and perform a chemical experiment, apply suitable methods and techniques for preparing solutions and reagents. P16. Perform computer calculations relevant to chemical problems using standard and specialized software

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know the basics of general and inorganic chemistry, the basics of equilibria in solutions, the basics of chemical analysis (titrometry) and the basics of higher mathematics. Be able to compose chemical equations and perform chemical calculations using basic formulas, work with computers. Have the skills to work in a chemical laboratory.
Course content
The course is devoted to in-depth study of the theoretical foundations of physical and physicochemical methods of analysis, as well as mastering practical skills in the laboratory of quantitative analysis, including using the necessary to determine the microcomponents of classical and modern analytical equipment. The main attention is paid to electrochemical, spectroscopic (methods of atomic absorption and emission spectroscopy, methods of molecular absorption and molecular emission spectroscopy), methods of concentration and separation of microcomponents from the matrix, as well as chromatographic methods of analysis (highlights of gas chromatography).

Assessment methods and criteria
The evaluation is based on a 100-point system. Semester control includes current and modular tests, homework, classroom survey, laboratory work. The maximum / minimum number of points that can be obtained by a student during the semester assessment is 60 points / 36 points. The final assessment is conducted in the form of an exam. Maximum / minimum number of points that can be obtained by a student on the exam 40 points / 24 points
