- Be able to use information technology in the development of software for processing measurement information - Be able to establish a rational nomenclature of metrological characteristics of measuring instruments to obtain measurement results with specified accuracy - Know and understand modern theoretical and experimental research methods to assess the accuracy of results - Be able to organize measurement procedures calibration, group or individual tests - Know at a basic level the basic principles of general and theoretical physics, including classical, relativistic and quantum mechanics, molecular physics and thermodynamics, electromagnetism, wave and quantum optics, atomic physics and atomic nucleus to establish, analysis and mechanisms of various physical phenomena and processes for solving practical problems - To be able to present the obtained scientific results, to participate in discussions about their own research.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know the basics of the course "Optics", in particular the sections "Interference" and "Partially coherent radiation" and understand the nature of physical processes that determine the degree of coherence of optical radiation Be able to apply Fourier transforms in practice for periodic and non-periodic functions. Possess basic skills of alignment of optical systems and methods of registration of optical radiation.
Course content
The course "Laser interferometry" examines current advances in interferometry with laser and non-laser sources. The purpose of studying the discipline is for students to acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the fields of coherent optics and interferometry. The educational task of the course is to effectively use interference methods in research in the field of "Metrology and information-measuring technology" and to control the quality of optical elements and devices. The learning outcomes are the ability to use different types of interferometers with laser and non-laser sources to solve practical problems.
