Prerequisites and co-requisites
Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of general linguistics, linguistic statistics, mathematical and computer linguistics, information and speech technologies, and English language; Knowledge of statistical analysis methods; skills in mathematical and computer modeling of linguistic phenomena; mathematical foundations of computer technology, principles of information collection, accumulation, processing, and search; translation methods. Ability to design a conceptual data model of the linguistic field; create software systems using databases and knowledge; fluently read, speak, and write in English. Training facilities: the International Scientific and Educational Center for Information Technologies and Systems of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
Course content
During industrial practice, students develop the skills of practical application of professional knowledge and competencies acquired during four years of study to successfully solve the following tasks: creation of specialized computer software for information linguistic systems of automatic text analysis; creation of information and linguistic technologies for automatic analysis of texts based on two languages - Ukrainian and English; application of online software resources for automatic analysis of texts based on two languages - Ukrainian and English; conducting a linguistic examination of the text and oral speech (on the basis of two languages - Ukrainian and English) using the methods of structural linguistics, linguistic statistics, and computer modeling.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Types of work: Acquaintance with the content and requirements for production practice, with the conditions of design/development/use of information linguistic systems and technologies of NLP at the production base of practice. Compilation and coordination with managers of an individual practice plan: development of a project plan for the fulfillment of assigned tasks (future applied research/performance of functional duties) with the justification of optimal approaches and methods for achieving the set goal. Implementation of the tasks on the basis of practice. Collection of information and systematization of material, development of component information systems of NLP, testing and expert evaluation of developed component information systems of NLP, work within the framework of AOPM working systems based on practice Presentation of the completed work at the training base.
Assessment methods and criteria
The results of students' industrial practice are evaluated on a 100-point scale. The final score (100 points) is formed by the sum of the points obtained from the assessment of the practice manager before the practice defense (60 points) and from the final control (40 points). A student who did not complete the Professional Internship program in full and got an unsatisfactory score repeats the practice.
