Learning outcomes
PLO 2. To work with information effectively: to select necessary information from different sources, in particular from professional literature and electronic bases; to analyze and interpret it critically; to arrange it and make proper classification and systematization. PLO 3. To organize the process of learning and self-education. PLO 6. Use information and communicative technologies to solve complicated specialized tasks and professional issues. PLO 7. To understand major problems of philology and approaches to their solution with the use of relevant methods, in particular, innovative interdisciplinary approaches of applied (computational) linguistics and information technologies; to explain their interrelation in the integrated system of interdisciplinary knowledge. Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful completion of courses: Mathematical Foundations of the Specialty, Informatics, Theoretical, and Applied Linguistics, Introduction to Philology, English Language), 2. Knowledge of theoretical foundations of general linguistics, linguistic statistics, mathematical and computer linguistics, information technologies, English language; current problems and research methods of scientific sources and practical applications in the field of computer linguistics; 3. Mastery of linguistic analysis methods at all language levels, statistical analysis methods; the principles of collecting, accumulating, processing, and searching for information; 4. The ability to work with scientific information, summarize domestic and foreign experience in the field of computer linguistics using modern methods of scientific research, work with specialized literature; apply modern software technologies; to process and analyze the received research results.
Course content
The purpose of the educational component is to conduct scientific research in a theoretical and applied direction, to present this research in the form of a written educational and scientific work and an oral presentation; to demonstrate students' ability to master scientific sources, operate with them, perform independent search and research of both scientific sources on the chosen topic and applied developments in the field, the ability to think critically and the ability to argue one's own point of view. The quality of performance and the content of the coursework certifies the acquired knowledge, skills, theoretical and practical skills, and determines the level of the student's readiness for the next stage of education.

Assessment methods and criteria
Based on the results of preparation and public defense of the coursework, evaluation is carried out in accordance with the forms and criteria specified in the previous paragraph. The decision on admission to the defense is made by the head of the coursework. The overall result is determined by the sum of the evaluations of the manager and the defense commission and does not include additional evaluation measures. Applicants of higher education, who in total scored the minimum positive number of points (60), or more to the maximum permissible score (100 points), receive a positive score established according to the compliance scale. Students who did not score the minimum positive number of points (60) receive an "Failed" grade.
