Learning outcomes
PLO 6. Use information and communicative technologies to solve complicated specialized tasks and professional issues. PLO 7. To understand major problems of philology and approaches to their solution with the use of relevant methods, in particular, innovative interdisciplinary approaches of applied (computational) linguistics and information technologies; to explain their interrelation in the integrated system of interdisciplinary knowledge. PLO 15. To conduct linguistic analysis (phonetic, morphemic, syntax, word formation, morphological, semantic), literary criticism, and translation studies analysis of texts of different genres and styles, as well as computer modeling of analysis and synthesis of linguistic objects and phenomena. PLO: 17, 25.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) Successful completion of courses: Introduction to Linguistics, Introduction to Computer Linguistics, Phonetics of the Ukrainian Language, Basics of Informatics, Basics of Programming; 2) Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of general linguistics, phonetics of the modern Ukrainian language, mathematical and computer linguistics, computer science, and programming; 3) Mastery of phonetic analysis methods; elementary skills in mathematical and computer modeling of linguistic phenomena; mathematical basics of computer technology; 4) Ability to use phonetic and phonemic transcription; use a programming language to solve problems of input, output, and processing of text and speech information.
Course content
Within the scope of the discipline "Applied phonetics" the basic provisions of applied phonetics and its conceptual apparatus are considered; modern technologies and methods of experimental phonetic research; acoustic-phonetic parameters of speech information and methods of extracting it from the speech stream are learned; methods and techniques of complex phonetic analysis of sound speech of various types are studied using modern computer tools. The educational discipline is the basis for studying the following courses of applied linguistics on computer modeling of verbal communication, analysis and synthesis of oral speech, and examination of human oral speech.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, seminars, and workshops, independent work. Types of work: response to a seminar class, laboratory work, report-analysis of scientific literature, tests.
Assessment methods and criteria
During the semester, seminar and laboratory classes are held on relevant topics, at which evaluation is carried out according to the types of work (answers at the seminar class, laboratory work, report-analysis of scientific literature, tests). The semester final score is formed by the points received by the student during the semester and the points received on the exam, the maximum distribution is carried out according to the following algorithm: 60 points (60%) - semester control and 40 points (40%) - exam).
