Learning outcomes
PLO 2. To work with information effectively: to select necessary information from different sources, in particular from professional literature and electronic bases; to analyze and interpret it critically; to arrange it and make proper classification and systematization. PLO 3. To organize the process of learning and self-education. PLO 4. To understand fundamental principles of human existence and nature in the contemporary scientific picture of the world, as well as fundamental principles of society with the aim of realizing man’s rights and duties as a member of society, awareness of the rule of law, human rights and freedoms and rights and freedoms of a citizen of Ukraine. PLO 5. To cooperate with colleagues, representatives of other cultures and religions, proponents of different political views, etc.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Before starting this course, students should know the main stages and characteristics of the socio-political process; 2. Be able to collect and interpret information about the phenomena and phenomena of politics, socio-political processes, and events; 3. Have basic skills in scientific research and information management; critical attitude and forecasting of political, economic, and cultural events and phenomena.
Course content
The discipline "Socio-Political Studies" is part of the cycle of compulsory academic disciplines. The subject of study of the discipline is the functioning and development of modern society, politics, and government, human interaction with social and political institutions, and special characteristics of modern Ukrainian society in a comparative context.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Methods: lecture, seminar, independent work. Learning activities during the semester: Oral response (presentation of a group project on seminar topics). Independent individual work (abstract and analytical review of the source). Final control test.
Assessment methods and criteria
The semester score is formed by the points received by the student in the process of mastering the material from the entire course. The total semester score consists of the points received for classroom work (oral reports (presentations)) and for independent work (abstract and analytical review of the source, writing an analytical study, and presentations). All types of work for the semester are summarized: - maximum 80 points; - minimum 48 points. In case of absence from the seminar, the student must complete the assignment in writing - an essay, an abstract and analytical review of sources, and an analytical study. Final control test - LO 1.1, 1.2, 2.1, 2.4, 4.1, 4.2 - 6 / 10 points each (minimum 12, maximum 20 points). The total number of points in the discipline (maximum 100 points) is determined as the sum of points for systematic work during the semester, taking into account the final tests.
