Possess at the operational level methods of observation, description, identification, classification, cultivation of ornamental plants and plant garden and park groups, maintaining their decorativeness, stability and stability in the conditions of a complex green zone of the city. PR07. Possess the skills to work independently and as a leader, to obtain results in a limited time with an emphasis on professional integrity when growing ornamental plants in open and closed soil, designing, creating and operating garden and park facilities. PR12. Plan time effectively to obtain the necessary results in production. PR15. Organize effective and safe working conditions. PR16. Based on in-depth knowledge of natural sciences, form an idea of preserving biological diversity to increase productivity, increase the stability and ecological plasticity of artificial phytocenoses and natural ecosystems in modern urban landscapes under global climate change.

Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know the biology of pathogens and pests, the main groups and types of diseases of trees, shrubs and of flowering plants, the main diseases of fruits and seeds, seedlings, needles and leaves, quarantine objects that can be imported with seeds and planting material, methods of diagnostics and phytopathological research, features of predicting the spread of pathogens, effective technologies for growing woody and ornamental plants. 2. To be able to determine the types of diseases of tree, shrub and flower plants, to monitor the damage of plants by diseases, to calculate the concentration of a chemical substance, to prepare chemical solutions. 3. To have basic skills of working with materials and equipment used in field and laboratory conditions.
Course content
The course examines the evolution of parasitism in phytopathogens, aspects of plant-pathogen interaction, pathogen attack factors, factors of passive, active and acquired plant immunity, hypersensitivity reaction, receptor mechanisms and signal transduction in plants, systems for protecting agricultural crops from pests and phytopathogens. The legal regulation of plant protection is considered.
