Be able to apply the provisions of regulatory documents that regulate the procedure for product certification, production certification, requirements for the organization of quality management systems at enterprises, rules for drawing up technical documentation and conducting a technological process, based on the knowledge obtained during practical training.

Be able to analyze regulatory documents (state and industry standards, technical conditions, guidelines, etc.), compile separate sections of technological and analytical documentation for biotechnological products of various purposes; analyze technological situations, choose rational technological solutions.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful completion of the courses "Cell Biology", "Plant Anatomy and Physiology", "Human and Animal Physiology", "Microbiology", "Immunology", "Virusology", "Genetic Foundations of Biotechnological Processes".
Be able to independently apply knowledge from the disciplines outlined above, perform laboratory and practical work, and work with scientific and methodological literature.
Possess basic skills in working with materials and equipment used in biological and biotechnological laboratories.
Course content
Biosafety in biotechnology is a relatively new field of knowledge, the main task of which is to protect the population from biological threats of various origins. Within the framework of this academic discipline, laboratory biosafety and bioprotection will be considered mainly, the main purpose of which is to protect the researcher from dangerous biological materials with which he works. During the study of the discipline, a general description of biorisks and biothreats when working in a biotechnology laboratory, safety rules, modern principles of biological safety in laboratory conditions are given. Factors affecting risks are considered in detail, and the determination of the probability and consequences that affect risks, categories of control measures, principles, technologies and practices that are implemented to prevent the unintentional release and spread of pathogens and toxins, and assessment of the level of biological risk. Understanding the basics of biosafety allows not only to reduce risks during research and protect the employee, but also to prevent the intentional or unintentional use of research results to cause harm.
