Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastery of the scientific and theoretical basis of the academic disciplines that are taught to students in the seventh semester in parallel with the course "Laboratory Practice in Genetics".
2. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, cytology
and histology, zoology, biophysics, etc.
3. Knowledge of the basic principles of basic biological methods
Course content
The educational discipline "Laboratory Practical Course in Genetics. Part 2", which is a component of the educational and professional program "Biology" of the educational level "Bachelor", is aimed at enabling students, based on the acquired theoretical knowledge, to master the basic methods of genetic research for performing course and final qualification works, analyze and interpret the obtained experimental data, conduct statistical processing of the obtained results, work with scientific literature and electronic databases. During the laboratory practical course, students acquire basic skills in conducting laboratory experiments, get acquainted with modern molecular and cytogenetic methods, methods of medical genetics and immunogenetics, modern approaches to studying eukaryotic chromosomes, classical and modern methods of plant breeding and genetics
