Learning outcomes
PLO14. Use Vietnamese and French in oral and written form, in different genres and styles and registers of communication (official, informal, neutral), to solve communicative tasks in everyday, social, educational, professional, scientific spheres of life. PLO20. Demonstrate basic knowledge of translation theory, main theoretical and practical problems of translation studies in the aspect of a specific language pair (Vietnamese and Ukrainian). PLO22. Carry out multidisciplinary bilateral Vietnamese-Ukrainian translation.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful completion of the courses “Vietnamese: Advanced Level”, “Fundamentals of Translation Theory”, “Fundamentals of Translation Practice”, “Practice of Vietnamese Translation”, “Ukrainian Language: Basics of Editing”. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of translation from Vietnamese. Advanced level of Vietnamese vocabulary and grammar. Ability to translate texts from Vietnamese into Ukrainian at a sufficient level.
Course content
The academic discipline “Vietnamese-Ukrainian Written Translation” is included in the list of elective disciplines within the elective block 2 “Vietnam Studies. Industry Translation”. The course program is aimed at developing and improving students’ translation skills of various texts. The purpose of the discipline is to improve students’ professional competencies in the field of written Vietnamese-Ukrainian translation of texts of various genres.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course provides for the following forms of learning organization: practical classes conducted using interactive teaching methods and individual work. The main types of work and, accordingly, the objects of semester control are: answers in practical classes, individual assignments (written translation of the text), and module tests. The details of the planned educational activities and teaching methods are presented in the discipline's work program published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the material learned, including theoretical training, which accounts for 40% of the total grade, and practical training, which accounts for 60% of the total grade. The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student for classroom work and for independent work; in total: in the maximum dimension 100 points, in the minimum dimension 60 points. Final assessment: credit. The credit is issued based on the results of the student's work throughout the semester and does not provide for additional assessment measures. The semester assessment criteria are presented in the work program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
