"The aim is to provide students with general knowledge of the theory and practice of editing, with a particular focus on practical skills in editing texts of various styles and genres in fiction, scientific, and popular science literature. Mastery of purely technical aspects of editorial work, text formatting, computer work, automated reviewing using appropriate programs, proofreading, and more, holds significant importance.
Abstract. The continuous increase in the production and consumption of diverse information resources inevitably affects its quality. On the one hand, the variety of opportunities for publishing one's texts multiplies, but on the other hand, their literacy significantly decreases at various levels of text creation. This is further exacerbated by the situation of the abnormal functioning of the Ukrainian language in Ukraine, which is also one of the effective tools of information warfare. It is not surprising that under these conditions, even Ukrainian philologists lose their sense of the native language, resorting to calquing, bureaucratic language, and more. The institution of professional editing, from stylistic to proofreading and purely technical editing, is also in decline. The discipline is aimed at correcting this situation."
