            1. Acquire knowledge of:
- phonetic principles governing the expression of various types (dialogue, monologue) in accordance with the context of intercultural communication;
- the specifics of the morphological structure of the contemporary English language;
- functional and stylistic norms for the use of lexical units within a synonymic chain, idioms, and expressions in accordance with the context of intercultural communication;
- the distinctive features of the English language as a comprehensive linguistic system.
2. Demonstrate the ability to:
- deliver monologues, adhering to the conventions of genre and style;
- reproduce the content of written texts and express personal opinions with supporting arguments;
- operate proficiently with grammatical units and select them in oral and written communication to achieve the communicative purpose of the statement.
        
    
            Course content
        
        
            The educational discipline (B2 communicative level) aims to foster students’ communicative, linguistic, and sociocultural competence; a positive attitude towards mastering both the language and the culture of the English-speaking world; awareness of the functions of a foreign language in the educational process and in society; provide knowledge about the culture, history, realities, and traditions of the country whose language is being studied, develop the ability to use, if necessary, various strategies to meet didactic needs (work with a manual, textbook, dictionary, reference literature, multimedia tools, etc.); to develop the ability of students to self-assess and self-improvement. The discipline consists of 4 content modules.

            Planned learning activities and teaching methods
        
        
            During the semester, practical classes are conducted on the relevant topics, during which the assessment is performed in accordance with the types of assignments and forms of evaluation outlined in the educational program. A communicative teaching methodology is employed.
        
    
            Assessment methods and criteria
        
        
            During the semester, assessment is conducted during practical classes based on the types of assignments and the evaluation method specified in the educational program.
The resulting grade for current performance during the semester is calculated by taking the arithmetic mean of the performance rates for all types of evaluated tasks (work during practical classes, module work, and independent work). The obtained score is multiplied by 6.
