The program of the discipline includes acquaintance with lithological and petrographic characteristics of oil and gas reservoir rocks. Focuses is on the practical study of these rocks in the core of oil wells and microscopic study and description of reservoir rocks in petrographic thin sections. Peculiarities of epigenetic changes in rocks and their influence on reservoir properties are considered.Acquaintance with the basic physical characteristics of rocks, reservoir, filtration and petrophysical features of reservoir rocks and fluid resistance rocks. Introduction to the basics of petrophysical and physical-geological modeling of rocks - potential reservoirs of oil and gas. Gaining skills in conducting laboratory petrophysical research on core samples from oil and gas wells. Ability to process the results of laboratory petrophysical research.

Lectures, laboratory work and independent work of the student

            Assessment methods and criteria

The control is carried out according to the modular rating system and involves: performing 6 laboratory works (where students must demonstrate the quality of acquired knowledge and solve problems using the methods and tools outlined by the teacher), conducting 2 written modular tests. The final assessment is conducted in the form of a written test.
