Course content
The academic discipline "Laboratory Practicum in Virology" is a component of the educational
program of professional training of specialists at the educational level "Bachelor".
The discipline is a discipline of free choice of the student, which highlights the issues of development
of modern methods of biological research, is designed to outline the range of methods and methodological
research techniques conducted in the field of virology to solve a specific scientific
practical problem, and which can be used when conducting experiments in related sciences
and within the framework of interdisciplinary projects, and which require in-depth knowledge of this
discipline.
The discipline is designed to form a system of abilities and skills in methods of diagnosis,
identification, isolation, accumulation, purification of viruses, methods of molecular biological
and serological studies of viruses, as well as methods of cultivating animal and
plant cell cultures and their practical use in virological studies, for
diagnosis, and the study of the cytopathic effect of viruses.
