Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastery of the academic disciplines "Human Physiology and Anatomy", "General Cytology", "Histology", "Biology of Individual Development". 2. Be able to independently use knowledge from the above-mentioned academic disciplines to solve specific scientific and practical problems; work with scientific and scientific-methodological literature. 3. Possess the skills of note-taking, systematization and assimilation of information.
Course content
The discipline "Physiology of the excretory and sexual systems" consists of two modules, which are devoted to explaining the mechanisms of functioning and regulation of the functions of the excretory and reproductive systems. During the study of the discipline the student develops an understanding of the mechanisms of urination and its regulation, the role of the excretory system in maintaining a number of homeostatic parameters of the body. The second module examines cellular and molecular mechanisms of reproduction, the functioning of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal system at different stages of ontogenetic development, the role of hormonal factors and the environment in the regulation of gametogenesis, sexual differentiation during embryogenesis and environmental factors.
