The academic discipline "Human and Animal Viruses" is a component of the educational program for professional training of specialists at the "Bachelor" educational level. The discipline is a basic discipline that covers the basics of the interaction of viruses with the human or animal body at various levels. The course consists of sections on the structure and reproduction of human and animal viruses. During the study of the discipline the general characteristics of virus families are given, which contains modern data on taxonomy and classification of human and animal viruses, genome properties, physical and chemical properties of nucleic acids and proteins, biological and antigenic properties, method of reproduction and ecology of viruses, role in human pathology. and animals, principles of laboratory diagnosis, prevention and treatment.
