Learning outcomes
PR03. Be able to calculate the composition of nutrient media, determine the features of their preparation and sterilization, carry out quality control of raw materials and finished products based on knowledge of the physicochemical properties of organic and inorganic substances.
PR14. Be able to justify the choice of a biological agent, the composition of the nutrient medium and the method of cultivation, the necessary auxiliary work and the main stages of the technological process.
PR26. Be able to use modern knowledge of the achievements of biological, environmental sciences, etc. to implement them in biotechnological production.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastery of the disciplines "Bioorganic Chemistry", "Biochemistry", "Microbiology".
2. Ability to independently apply knowledge of bioorganic chemistry, biochemistry and other disciplines to solve specific scientific and practical problems; work with scientific and methodological literature.
3. Possession of elementary skills of work in a chemical laboratory.
Course content
The academic discipline “Biotechnology of Biologically Active Substances” examines the basic principles of the chemical structure and synthesis of biologically active substances, namely: vitamins, secondary metabolites of plant origin, hormones, their active forms; introduces the functions of these substances in the human body; creates opportunities to work in the laboratory to master the skills and abilities to perform experimental research, analyze target products of biotechnological production of biologically active products.
