Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. To know the main aspects of the historical formation and development of private law in Ukraine and Europe, the criteria for qualifying legal relations as private, the basic principles of implementation and methods of protection of private rights, literary sources on private law, acts of civil legislation of Ukraine and the main acts of the European Union in the private sphere, existing judicial practice in resolving civil disputes.
2. be able to determine the legal nature of legal relations as public or private, evaluate and define the role and objectives of private law in Ukraine and in European countries.
3. Possess basic skills of working with educational and regulatory literature, applying scientific methods of cognition and legal methods of resolving controversial practical situations in the field of private law.
Course content
The forms of teaching and teaching methods of this discipline are aimed at conducting an in-depth legal analysis of the provisions of private law of Ukraine and European countries, acquiring practical skills in solving real-life situations, their correct legal interpretation, and developing proposals for improving current legislation. The course of the discipline provides for an intensive study of problematic issues of the main institutions of private law, as well as its correlation with the doctrine of human rights protection.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, seminars, independent work of students based on textbooks, notes, methodological recommendations, and consultations with the teacher.
Assessment methods and criteria
The forms of student assessment include: express survey; colloquium; report; testing (select the correct ones from a set of judgments); module test; case study.
The minimum score to be obtained by a student on the relevant forms of assessment during the semester is 24 points, the maximum score is 40 points.
During the current control during seminars, the following are subject to evaluation: the level of knowledge demonstrated by the student in the answer, activity in discussing the issues of the seminar, systematic work in the classroom, and the results of homework.
Final assessment: credit (in the form of an interview with the possible use of information and communication technologies or in the form of an asynchronous written response to the questions posed and tasks provided)
