Learning outcomes
To know: classification of basic models of the geological environment; basic methods of mathematical modeling of geophysical parameters in complex geological environments; applied applications of modeling methods in geophysics. Carry out computer modeling of geophysical parameters. Visualize, analyze and interpret modeling results. Be able to prepare a report on the modeling, formulate conclusions and prove the correctness of their own interpretation. To set and solve problems of modeling geophysical parameters in accordance with certain conditions.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful completion of mathematical courses with the basics of differential and integral calculus. 2. Possess basic skills in working with a personal computer.
Course content
The course provides students with an understanding of the main types of geological environment models, their hierarchical nature, and allows them to master the basic methods of averaging and stochastic equations. Students learn critical thinking when analyzing modeling algorithms, understanding the possibilities and limitations of modeling geophysical parameters. The course covers applications of modern modeling algorithms in various applied problems of geophysics.
