Learning outcomes
PLO 8. Apply appropriate economic-mathematical methods and models to solve economic problems. PLO 12. Apply the acquired theoretical knowledge to solve practical problems and meaningfully interpret the results. PLO 27. Use appropriate software (programming languages, packages) for economic and mathematical research.
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know the basic principles of functioning of economic systems at the micro and macro levels; elements of mathematical analysis, probability theory and mathematical statistics that are needed to solve economic problems. 2. Have the skills of analysis, synthesis, processing and presentation of statistical data, work with the regulatory framework.
Course content
The course structure has two modules: Content module 1. “Probability Theory” that discusses the basic concepts of probability theory, axioms of probability theory, discrete random variables, continuous random variables, limit theorems of probability theory. Content module 2. "Case-oriented methods of solving economic modeling tasks", which examines examples and methodology of modeling economic processes.
