Learning outcomes
1.2 To know the main types of financial instruments and their characteristics
1.3 to know main types of investors and their characteristics
2.1 to be able to apply the main methods of analyzing and forecasting market dynamics and investor behavior
2.2 to be able to apply main analytical methods of feasibility of investing in different kinds of securities.
2.3 to be able to draw up analytical overviews and short investment reports and business plans for institutional and individual investors (in English)
to explain and get accross information, ideas, problems and solutions on investment activity to clients and professionals (in English)
3.2 to lead discussion, present arguments to prove your point to the target audience on implementation of investment solutions (in English)

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know: lexical and grammatical bases of oral and written business English of business, management, and finance.
Have the skills of analytical processing information, processing and visualization of statistical data, digitalized processing of business data in Ukrainian and English.
Course content
The discipline promotes the formation of the ability to communicate effectively at professional and social levels using professional terminology, including oral and written communication in English. In particular, the discipline contributes to the formation of students’ understanding of the essence of international investment in today’s globalised environment and the ability to analyse international markets of goods and services, tools and principles of international investment, and promotes practical application of theoretical knowledge and analytical skills in investment management through critical analysis of core trends in the investment market, as well as the ability to make informed investment decisions. The discipline contributes to the acquisition of thorough knowledge of the lexical and grammatical features of professionally oriented English; features of professional culture, development of information culture, cognitive and research skills; develops socio-cultural competence and readiness for interaction in the conditions of multicultural professional communication. The course contributes to the development of students’ theoretical and methodological basis for in-depth self-study and certification programs, as the discipline is developed using the materials of the Certified Financial Analysts (CFA) programme "Foundations of Investments".

Assessment methods and criteria
The final control is carried out in the form of a written test, which is estimated at a maximum of 20 points and is made at one of the last seminars in the discipline. The final grade for the discipline the student is put on the results of work during the semester as the sum of the points received during the academic semester, including points received for independent work and control work.
