Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know: basic approaches to data visualization; main types of graphics, their areas of application and typical limitations for each graphics tool; features of analysis and visualization of specific types of data; typical ways of visually effective presentation of research results; potential errors possible when visualizing data. 2. Have: skills to identify differences in the use of basic types of statistical data visualization tools; current trends in the use of statistical data visualization; skills of constructing statistical charts and graphs that visually characterize socio-economic phenomena and processes.
Course content
The curriculum consists of two content modules: module 1 "Theoretical foundations of statistical data visualization", which discusses the basic concepts and concepts of development of visual models of numerical data sets, stylistic relationships and paradigms, classification of visual elements of information, the main objectives of data visualization , basic approaches to data visualization; Module 2 "Methods and tools of visual data analytics", which reveals the main types of graphs, their applications and typical limitations for each graphical tool, features of analysis and visualization of specific data types, typical ways of visually effective presentation of research results, potential errors in visualization data, the main graphical capabilities of online applications for visualization of statistical data, methods and capabilities of information visualization using software, the functionality of image development software.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The purpose of the discipline is to expand and deepen theoretical knowledge and acquire professional competencies in visual analysis of socio-economic processes and effective management decisions through the use of statistical tools for data visualization.
Assessment methods and criteria
- semester assessment of 100 points maximum / 60 points minimum: 1. Participation in laboratory classes (presentation of completed tasks and independent practical exercises) - 10 points / 6 points 2. Two tests - each 20 points / 12 points 3. Performing independent work - 25 points / 15 points 4. Execution of individual works - 25 points / 15 points 5. Final test - 20 points / 12 points.
