Learning outcomes
PLO3. Know and use economic terminology, explain the basic concepts of micro and macroeconomics.
PLO4. Understand the principles of economics, features of economic systems.
PLO7. Explain the models of socio-economic phenomena in terms of fundamental principles and knowledge based on an understanding of the main directions of development of economics.
PLO21. Be able to think abstractly, apply analysis and synthesis to identify key characteristics of economic systems at different levels, as well as the behavior of their subjects.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know: basic laws, concepts and categories of economic theory, basic methods of historical and economic analysis and their evolution; to know the laws of functioning and features of modern economy at the macro- and micro levels, the main methods of comparative economic analysis of economic systems.
2. To be able to: analyze economic phenomena and processes and their reflection in economic thought; explain the relationship between economic facts, economic theory, the history of economics and economic thought; classify and conduct a comparative analysis of the main directions of economic science; use historical experience in the formation and development of market relations in practice, determine trends in the economic development of the country; master the skills of systemic analytical thinking.
3. To be satisfied with elementary skills of public speaking.
Course content
"History of Economics and Economic Thought" is a discipline that occupies one of the leading places in the system of economic disciplines, accumulating specific facts of economic development of individual countries and analyzing specific views and theories that were formed in different eras. This discipline allows us to see how the process of transformation of some forms of management into others is carried out, in what direction the process of change takes place, what exactly the modern economic structure was prepared for us. Based on this, the study of the "History of Economics and Economic Thought" greatly contributes to the formation of the economic culture of future specialists.

Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment of 60 points maximum / 36 points minimum:
participation in seminars (theoretical discussions, speeches, participation in discussions) – max. 20 points / min. 12 points;
Self-work (writing essays, abstracts, abstracts of English-language articles) – max. 10 points / max. 6 points; preparation of a fixed performance – max. 5 points / min. 3 points; performance of creative tasks – max. 5 points / min. 3 points;
performing creative tasks – max. 5 points / min. 3 points;
working on meaningful parts 1–2 – max. 20 points (2 ×10 points) / min. 12 points (2 ×6 points).
For students who scored a total of less points than the critical minimum – 36 points for admission to the exam, it is necessary to perform additional tasks within the IWS.
Mandatory for the exam is the performance of independent work of the student on the main topics of the discipline.
Final assessment in the form of an exam: maximum score of 40 points, minimum score – 24 points (60% of 40 points).
