Course content
The course discusses spatial manifestations of political and geopolitical relations, the most widespread political institutions and sources of political power, which determine the state of the world political map and the processes on it. Along with traditional representations of spatialpolitical relations in the form of territorial states and international relations, the course focuses upon such factors as economic power of multinational corporations, normative power of religions, customs and norms, influence of informal and nongovernmental organizations, the role of scientific knowledge as a political instrument etc.

Assessment methods and criteria
The course consists of ецщ parts. Learning is performed in the form of lectures and seminars. After lectures on each part end, there is a control test with the maximum score of 15 points each. Control tests 1 and 2 can together score up to 30 points throughout the term. At seminars, pursuers are expected to make extensive presentations with following discussions. Each pursuer has to make four presentations (2 per course part). Each presentation can score up to 5 points, 20 points throughout the term. Additionally, active participation in a discussion can be evaluated up to 5 points per course part. Throughout the term discussion participation may yield up to 10 points. Thus, maximum score for seminar work can be up to 30 points.
