Know: the main spatial characteristics (qualitative and quantitative) of the state territory of Ukraine (size, configuration, geographical location) of its geopolitical strategy and geoeconomic priorities; the essence and regional features of demographic, ecological, migration processes, regional labor markets in Ukraine; factors and patterns of location, territorial organization, current state, problems and prospects for the development and location of industries, agriculture and the service sector Be able to: demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the subject area of ​​the discipline during component and complex characterization / analysis / assessment of demographic, migration, economic and social processes in their interrelationships; reveal the cause-and-effect factors determining the formation of socio-geographical systems; develop complex socio-geographical descriptions of units of administrative-territorial organization in accordance with practical

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Have basic knowledge of the courses "Public Geography", "Social Geography", "Economic Geography"; be able to analyze the causes and assess the consequences of demographic, migration, economic and social processes in regions; possess modern methods of searching, systematizing and primary processing of geographic information; elementary skills in analyzing and synthesizing geographic information, comparative geographical analysis.
Course content
The academic discipline "Economic and Social Geography of Ukraine" is dedicated to the study of the socio-geographical position of Ukraine, its geopolitical and geoeconomic priorities; demographic situation, migration processes, population resettlement, regional labor markets of Ukraine; territorial organization, regional disparities and prospects for the development of industries, agriculture and the service sector of Ukraine; the social sphere of Ukraine; levels of socio-economic development, economic and social security of the regions of Ukraine; foreign economic relations of Ukraine; socio-geographical macro-regions of Ukraine

Assessment methods and criteria
Classes are held in the form of lectures and seminars. The course ends with an exam. Semester assessment: the number of points that a student receives during the semester is the sum of the points that were obtained when evaluating the work in seminars and performing thematic tests. Assessment organization: Work in seminars is assessed by performance, in accordance with the schedule of seminars. Thematic tests are carried out in the form of a test.
