Learning outcomes
Know the general patterns of spatial differentiation of the geographic shell. Know the composition and structure of the geographic shell and its geospheres: lithosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere and biosphere. To know the peculiarities of the dynamics of the geographical shell and its geospheres, the specifics of global circulations Understand the environmental problems of mankind. Be able to operate with basic categories and concepts. To be able to explain the spatial differentiation of the geographical shell and the geographical environment at the global, regional and local territorial levels. Be able to explain the changes that occur in the geographical environment under the influence of natural and anthropogenic factors. Be able to determine the location of major geographic features on a map.

Course content
The subject of physical geography, economic geography, and political geography is covered. General ideas about the geographical shell and its properties are considered, brief information about the shape and movements of the Earth as a planet of the Solar System is given, spatial and temporal heterogeneity of the geographical shell is considered, a systematic approach to natural phenomena, the system structure of the geographical shell and geosystems is substantiated, which allows to consider natural objects as a set of interdependent components that make up an integral geographical system; information about the composition and structure of the geographical shell and its geosphere: the lithosphere is presented, Covers approaches to typification and classification of countries of the world. Reveals the geography of the world's natural resources, population and settlement of the world's countries, the formation and structure of the world economy. The modern structure of political geography is revealed. The political and geographical aspects of globalization and the structure of the modern political map of the world are analyzed. The sovereign state is considered as an integral territorial and political system. The scientific approaches to the political and geographical study of the state territory, borders, political and geographical location, internal geospatial structure, and capital are highlighted. The general features of the political geography of Ukraine and regions of the world are considered.

Assessment methods and criteria
Semester evaluation: the number of points a student receives during the semester is the sum of the points received during the evaluation of the completed practicals and their defense and the assessment of the ability to determine the location of major geographical objects on a map. Assessment organization: during practical classes, the level of practical work, a report on the results of the practical work and answers to additional questions are assessed. The tasks of practical work are published in accordance with the schedule of practical classes. Separately, the ability to determine the location of major geographical objects on a map (geographical nomenclature) is assessed.
