Learning outcomes
Collect, process and analyze information in the field of Earth sciences.
Determine the main characteristics, processes, history and composition of the Earth as a planetary system and its geospheres.
Analyze the composition and structure of geospheres (in accordance with specialization) on different spatial and temporal scales.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful completion of a school course in physics and physical geography.
2. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of physics, physical geography, the ability to establish causal relationships between phenomena and processes occurring in the natural environment.
3. Mastery of information synthesis and analysis methods.
Course content
The discipline is devoted to the study of the Earth's atmosphere. The course consists of two content modules. The first is dedicated to the study of the composition and structure of the atmosphere, solar, terrestrial and atmospheric radiation, the thermal regime of the atmosphere, the surface of the soil and water bodies, as well as the water regime of the atmosphere. In the second module, the formation and distribution of atmospheric precipitation, the baric field of the atmosphere, the wind regime, air masses and atmospheric fronts, atmospheric circulation over different latitudes, and climate-forming factors are considered.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, practical work, independent work, control work, exam.
Assessment methods and criteria
The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student in the process of assimilation of material from all topics of meaningful modules, performance of practical work and individual tasks.
Final evaluation in the form of an exam: the maximum number of points on the exam is 40 points, the minimum number of points that are added to the semester ones is 24 points (60% of the maximum number of points assigned to the exam).
Students who scored at least 36 points during the semester (60% of the maximum number of points allocated for the semester control) are allowed to take the exam in the discipline. For students who scored a total of less points than the critical calculation minimum - 36 points during the semester - to pass the exam, it is necessary to re-pass the current control of knowledge (for example, in the form of testing) in the established order.
