Learning outcomes
PR05. Possess at the operational level methods of observation, description, identification, classification, cultivation of ornamental plants and plant horticultural groups, maintaining their decorative, stability and stability in the complex green zone of the city.
PR16. On the basis of in-depth knowledge of natural sciences to form an idea of biodiversity conservation to increase productivity, increase sustainability and ecological plasticity of artificial phytocenoses and natural ecosystems in modern urban landscapes under global climate change.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Кnow the theoretical foundations of taxonomy and nomenclature, morphology and anatomy of higher plants (within the disciplines "Plant Biology", "Latin language and professional terminology", "Educational practice in plant biology").
2. Вe able to characterize the main patterns of distribution of plant organisms and their groups on the globe.
3. Possess basic skills of cartography, determination of habitats of taxonomic units .
Course content
The course is devoted to the analysis of the timing of vegetation cover on the globe. In the sections into which the course is divided, the botanical foundations of phytodiversity, patterns of formation, distribution, peculiarities of classification of plant groups are considered; the main types of plant cover of the globe, features of biomes, biotopes and floristic kingdoms are characterized in detail; classification of plants of the globe according to their utilitarian value, centers of species diversity of cultivated plants and issues of protection of the vegetation cover of the globe.
