Learning outcomes
The student should know what atomic-scale objects are and criteria for their formation; basic - atomic experiments physics; Schrödinger's equation; model of the Bohr atom; vector model of multi-electron atoms, thermals; Zeeman effect, g-factor; Moseley's law; molecules, covalent bond, hybridized orbitals; crystal lattice, dispersion
equations for electron waves.
The student must be able to apply ratios Heisenberg uncertainties; to be able to solve motion problems charged particles in electric and magnetic fields; solve the stationary Schrödinger equation; calculate hydrogen-like atoms (ions) on the basis of the Bohr atom theory; find the basic terms (states) of atoms; calculate the structure of Zeeman transitions; calculate the parameters of X-ray lines in atoms.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
The study discipline "Atomic Physics" is based on the cycle of disciplines of professional and practical training.
Course content
In the course "Atomic Physics", objects and processes of the atomic scale are studied. Electromagnetic interaction is the main type of interaction that determines the processes and structures of the atomic scale. The theory of atomic objects is built on the basis of methods quantum mechanics. Such objects include atoms, molecules and crystal lattices. In this sequence, they are considered in the lecture course. The main theoretical results are illustrated by the results of experimental research. The role of the experiment in establishing the basic principles of atomic physics is emphasized.

Lectures, consultations, practical classes, independent work.
Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment: the academic semester consists of two content modules. After the completion of the relevant topics, two written modular tests are conducted. For
determination of the level of achievement of learning outcomes tasks for the modular control test the ability to solve practical problems.
Final assessment in the form of an exam, written-oral exam form. A total of 0 to 50 points can be obtained for the exam. A condition for achieving a positive grade for a discipline is obtaining a total grade of at least 60 points, while the grade on the exam cannot be lower than 24 points.
