Prerequisites and co-requisites
know: international civil rights remedies and case law of international courts; be able to: use their professional knowledge and skills on civil rights protection in international courts, public organizations, civil society institutions, non-profit and non-governmental organizations; be able to: independently identify and formulate a problem related to the protection of civil rights, analyze relevant material on the problem and present the results orally and in writing within a specified period of time.
Course content
The forms of lectures and methods of studying this course are aimed at gaining a general understanding and the ability to critically reflect and discuss, orally and in writing, contemporary theory and research on the protection of civil rights; to provide a broad overview of international human rights procedures, to improve understanding of various aspects of human rights protection of the European Union and Council of Europe.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, seminars, independent work of students based on textbooks, notes, methodological recommendations, and consultations with the teacher.
Assessment methods and criteria
The forms of student assessment include: express survey; colloquium; report; testing (select the correct ones from a set of judgments); module test; case study. The minimum score to be obtained by a student on the relevant forms of assessment during the semester is 24 points, the maximum score is 40 points. During the current control during seminars, the following are subject to evaluation: the level of knowledge demonstrated by the student in the answer, activity in discussing the issues of the seminar, systematic work in the classroom, and the results of homework. The final assessment is a written test or an oral test (with the possible use of information and communication technologies) (maximum score - 60).
