know the principles of language norms and follow them when using a foreign language; know the key concepts of a foreign language; know the stylistic features of professionally oriented texts; know the basics of written communication; know the principles of lexical and grammatical transformations; be able to work with primary sources of professionally oriented nature; be able to organize and conduct a presentation, business meeting, discussion, negotiation, etc. understand foreign language speech; comprehend texts of different genres; understand the main content of authentic scientific and professionally oriented texts while reading; build a long spontaneous monologue; participate in unprepared dialog/political discussion to realise speech intentions; make prepared messages in the form of a report; in the course of writing, be able to compose and format scientific and professionally oriented texts of different genres and styles.

The student should know: the basic principles of language norms and adhere to them when using a foreign language; the key concepts of a foreign language and use them in scientific and professional communication; stylistic features of professionally oriented texts; the basics of written communication; basic principles of lexical and grammatical transformations. The student should be able to: work with primary sources and authentic professionally oriented articles; communicate in written and oral forms; organise and conduct a presentation, business meeting, negotiations; build a long, spontaneous monologue, participate in an unprepared dialogue/political dialogue to implement speech intentions; make prepared messages on the proposed topic in the form of a report containing their own arguments; participate in discussions that require preliminary selection and processing of facts; compose and create professionally orientated and scientific texts of various genres and styles.

Practical classes

The semester score is formed by the number of points received by the student in the process of mastering the material on all topics of the content module and is the sum of points for each. Assessment by forms of control for the content module: 1) Class work (speaking, reading, writing, listening tasks) - 16 points / 10 points in each module 2) Writing short vocabulary and grammar tests - 7 points / 4 points in each module 3) Essay (1 per module) - 5 points / 3 points per module 4) Presentation (1 per module) - 5 points / 3 points per module 5) Final written tests (1 per module) - 7 points / 4 points per module The final grade is based on the results of the student's work during the semester and an oral interview with the teacher at the final assessment.
