Learning outcomes
PLO 9. To characterize the theoretical foundations (concepts, categories, principles, basic concepts, etc.) and applied aspects of Hindi philology. PLO 11. To carry out the scientific analysis of linguistic, speech and literary material, to interpret and structure it according to the relevant methodological principles, to generalise information on the basis of independently processed data. PLO 12. To follow the rules of academic integrity. PLO 17. To plan, organise, carry out and present research results and / or innovative achievements in the field of Hindi philology. PLO 18. To present the results of one’s research to the scientific community in scientific publications or speeches at conferences, round tables, seminars, etc.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Students have to know the peculiarities of the Hindi language, the literature of India, the theory and practice of translation from Hindi and the methods of teaching Hindi; to be able to work with educational and scientific information in the field of Indology, to process it, to make generalizations and conclusions regarding linguistic, translational and methodological features; to possess the basic skills of actualization, systematization, deepening of scientific research; comparative analysis, description and assessment for formulating generalizations and substantiating conclusions.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to write and defend a qualifying (research) master’s thesis; to develop the skills of scientific and research work and to establish the actual compliance of the graduate’s level of educational and qualification training with the requirements of the educational and qualification characteristics of the specialty 035 “Philology” (035.062 “Oriental languages and literatures (translation inclusive), the first is Hindi") under the OP "Oriental philology, Western European language and translation: Hindi language and literature".

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Choosing a topic for a master's thesis and writing a detailed work plan on it. Definition of subject, object, development of hypothesis and strategy of research. Determination of the stages and terms of the work. Work with sources, consultation of a scientific supervisor, writing a qualification (master's) thesis.
Assessment methods and criteria
The assessment for writing the master's qualifying research paper consists of three components: 1) assessment by the supervisor, who fills out the feedback form of the supervisor in accordance with the evaluation criteria (up to max. 10 points); 2) evaluations of the reviewer who fills out the review form in accordance with the evaluation criteria (up to max. 45 points) 3) evaluations for the defense of the qualification work (up to max. 45 points), which is issued by the attestation commission and entered in the final evaluation sheet, which also contains the total score as an arithmetic integer of three components (up to max. 100 points).
