            PLO 3. To implement the modern methods and techniques, namely informational, in order to perform a successful and effective professional activity and guarantee the quality of research in a specific philological field. 
PLO 7. Analyze, compare and classify different trends and schools in Linguistics. 
PLO 8. Evaluate historical heritage and the latest achievements of literary studies. 
PLO 9. To characterize theoretical (concepts, categories, principles, basic concepts, etc.) principles and practical aspects of a specific linguistic specialization.

            Prerequisites and co-requisites
        
        
            The student must know the basic concepts of translation studies, the main facts and personalities of the literary process in European countries in the historical context, the peculiarities of the historical development of a foreign language, the basics of the history of world culture and the history of religions; to be able to apply translation studies and encyclopedic knowledge in practice; to have basic skills of understanding, analysis, systematization and memorization of information from humanitarian knowledge.
        
    
            Course content
        
        
            The purpose of the discipline is to give students a clear idea of the need for knowledge of the history of translation in order to better master the theory and practice of translation; to get acquainted with the peculiarities of each period of the history of translation from Antiquity to the first half of the 20th century, with a special emphasis on the countries where the Romance languages are spread.
The academic discipline combines the history of translation and the history of theoretical reflections on translation, the history of written and oral translation.

            Assessment methods and criteria
        
        
            Semester assessment:
the maximum number of points during the semester is 80 points:
tasks performed in the process of independent work and a summary of lectures - max. 10 points
answers in practical classes - max 30 points;
Preparation and design of the essay - max 10 points;
Speech on the topic of the essay - max 10 points;
Final test - max 20 points.
The minimum number of points per semester is 48.
Final assessment in the form of credit - min 12/ max 20 points.
