PLO 7. Analyze, compare and classify different directions and schools in linguistics. PLO 8. Evaluate historical achievements and the latest achievements of literary studies. PLO 9. Characterize the theoretical foundations (concepts). PLO 10. Collect and systematize linguistic, literary facts, interpret and translate texts of different styles and genres in the field of Japanese philology. PLO 11. Carry out scientific analysis of linguistic, speech and literary material, interpret and structure it taking into account appropriate methodological principles, formulate generalizations based on independently processed data. PLO 17. Plan, organize, implement and present research and/or innovative developments in the field of Japanese philology.

Distance form

1) possession of elementary skills of analytical, search and research work; 2) successful completion of the disciplines "Oral and Ancient Oriental Literature (in the language direction)", "Medieval Oriental Literature (in the language direction)" and/or "Literature of Japan of the XIX century" during the study at the ED "Bachelor"; 3) Proficiency in Japanese language and skills of working with original texts.

The compulsory discipline OK.07 "Modern Japanese literature" is taught in the first and second semesters and consists of 6 credits, 180 hours (32 hours of lectures, 28 hours of seminars and 120 hours of self-study), of which 3 credits and 90 hours (16 hours of lectures, 14 hours of seminars and 60 hours of self-study) in each semester. Final control form – pass-fail test in the first semester and examination in the second one. The course is designed to explore the key features of Japanese literary process in the XX-XXI centuries, to introduce most popular figures of the modern Japanese literature and their creative heritage, to teach how to determine genre-style and figurative specifics of iconic works of the XX-XXI centuries.

Oral response, participation in discussions at lectures and seminars, module tests, project, credit, exam.

The final assessment in the 1st semester is carried out in the form of a credit: the maximum number of points on the credit – 20 points; the minimum number of points that are added to the semester points – 12 points (60% of the maximum number of points allocated for the credit). Students, who have scored a total of less points than the critical-calculated minimum of 40 points, are not allowed to take the test. The final evaluation in the 2nd semester is conducted in the form of an exam: the maximum number of points in the exam – 40 points; the minimum number of points, added to the semester points, – 24 points (60% of the maximum number of points allocated for the exam). The written exam consists of three questions on the course content. If necessary, an oral examination is additionally conducted. Students, who scored less points than the critical minimum of 20 points, are not allowed to take the exam.
