LO1. To analyze and interpret mental phenomena, identify psychological problems and suggest ways to resolve them. LO2. To understand patterns and tendencies of the development and functioning of mental phenomena in the professional tasks’ context.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1 Know: basic scientific approaches that study the relationship between the brain and psyche; features of electrical and chemical processes in the brain; features of localization and course of basic mental processes (attention, memory, thinking, motivation, emotions, consciousness). 2 Be able to: predict possible disorders of mental activity, based on the topical patterns of organization of brain processes; recognize early signs of chronic neurodegenerative processes; organize a neuropsychological examination. 3 To have skills of: carrying out methods of neuropsychological diagnostics, interpretation of their results and generalization of the received data in the conclusion of the neuropsychologist.
Course content
Neuropsychology is an interdisciplinary field of scientific knowledge that deals with the relationship between the psyche and the human brain. In the course of mastering the discipline students get acquainted with theoretical and applied concepts of modern neuroscience in their relationship with various phenomena of culture, medicine, everyday life. The problems of the course concern the problems of brain organization of mental processes, the specifics and conditions of plastic reorganization of the brain in the norm and pathology, methods of detecting disorders of brain activity.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Assessment methods and criteria
      Discussions, presentation, final test, test. Semester assessment: answers to seminars, independent work are evaluated. The grade is formed as the sum of all points earned during the semester. Oral answer - from 18 to 25 points. Additions - from 6 to 15 points. Independent individual work - from 24 to 40 points. Final test - from 12 to 20 points. Evaluation organization: 0-59 - not credited, 60-100 credit.
