Course content
The study discipline "Introduction to university studies" is included in the cycle of compulsory study subjects. The main milestones of the birth and formation of the higher education system in the history of world civilization, the main concepts and classification of higher educational institutions are considered; the role and influence of Ukrainian educational institutions on the formation of traditions of higher education; attention is drawn to the peculiarities of the Bologna system of education; the main stages of formation, development and activity of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University in general and the Educational and Scientific Institute of Public Administration and Civil Service in particular are traced.
The purpose of the discipline is to study the history of the evolution of the educational knowledge of mankind, the traditions of university education in Ukraine and the world, to get acquainted with the history of the main stages of the activity of Kyiv University, the past of the faculties, and their scientific and educational work. To acquire skills in working with scientific literature and sources, their analysis and application

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, seminars, independent work.
Lectures take place in the classroom with the use of presentations and additional illustrative material.
The seminars take place in classrooms, during the seminars the learning of the material takes place in the form of discussions (individual and group), discussions and analysis, game methods are used, and practical tasks are performed.
The student's independent work consists in the systematic processing of materials proposed by the teacher. The learned material is subject to verification at seminar classes in the form of an oral survey. In addition, the results of independent processing of the material are checked during the writing of modular test papers.
Missed classes are made up by the student completing additional tasks in the discipline
Assessment methods and criteria
The total amount of points is 100 points (of which, the current control is 80 points; the final control is 20 points).
Semester evaluation is carried out in the following forms:
1. Independent work (essay)
2. Control work:
* The maximum score / threshold score for receiving a positive evaluation from the corresponding control form.

- assessment form - credit;
- the maximum number of points that can be obtained by a student is 20 points
