he student should know the systems of Maxwell's equations in differential and integral forms of writing, boundary conditions for electromagnetic waves in the microwave range, general properties of plane electromagnetic waves, inhomogeneous plane waves, TE and TM waves, general properties of microwave transmission lines, classification of microwave transmission lines, dispersion and cut-off phenomenon in microwave transmission lines.
The student must be able to obtain wave equations for waves in the microwave range, obtain dispersion relations for waves in the microwave range, obtain electric and magnetic permeability tensors, design and propose path elements of microwave signal processing devices.
