Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Have basic knowledge of general chemistry. 2. Have an idea of the basics of organic chemistry. 3. Know the basic concepts of organic chemistry. 4. To be able to depict the formulas of organic compounds. 5. To have basic skills in writing organic reactions.
Course content
Basic concepts of chemistry in space and fundamental positions of stereochemistry are studied. Types of stereoisomerism, causes of optical rotation, nomenclature of stereocenters, different types of enantiomerism and diastereomerism, methods of establishing configuration, topism, basic principles of stereoselective synthesis, conformational analysis, as well as peculiarities of stereochemistry of macromolecules are considered.
