Learning outcomes
PLO 1. Communicate freely on professional issues with experts and non- experts in Ukrainian, German and English, in oral and in written form, use these languages to organize effective cross-cultural communication. PLO 3. Organize own learning and self-education process. PLO 10. Know the rules of standard language and be able to apply them in practice. PLO 14. Use German and English in oral and written form, in different genre-stylistic varieties and registers of communication (official, unofficial, neutral), to solve communicative tasks in everyday, social, educational, professional, scientific spheres of life. PLO 23.1. Communicate in a third foreign language (Western European) in situations related to everyday life, educational, socio-cultural, and socio-political spheres. PLO 25.1. Know and understand the essence of future professional activity in the field of linguistics and business communication.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Mandatory prerequisites for studying the discipline include proficiency in the German language at the B1/B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, fluency in the Ukrainian language, as well as successful completion of the normative educational components "Theory and Practice of Translation", "Introduction to Translation Studies", "Introduction to Linguistics", and "Country Studies". The knowledge, skills, and experience acquired in the process of studying this discipline provide the basis for further mastery and fulfillment of the requirements of the credit module "Educational (Translation) Practice". Students should possess language and speech skills necessary for mastering the lexical and grammatical material of the German language, all types of language activities (listening, reading, speaking, and writing) in German, as well as knowledge and communicative skills in the field of intercultural communication.
Course content
The academic discipline "Interpretation from the First Language" for fourth-year students is an integral part of the educational-professional program for training specialists in the field of Philology (Germanic languages and literatures, including translation) at the bachelor's level. It serves as a logical continuation of the educational discipline "Translation Practice from the First Language for Intercultural Communication." This course aims to further develop students' professional translation competence, deepen existing knowledge, enhance translation skills, acquire new language skills, and overcome lexical, grammatical, and stylistic challenges in translation. The discipline is elective and falls under the optional block "Linguistics and Translation." In the seventh semester, the course is taught for a total of 180 hours (6 credits), with 90 hours in the classroom and 90 hours of independent student work.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Practical classes, independent work.
Assessment methods and criteria
Current assessment includes practical session responses, summarizing texts, oral translation of a report during colloquium, pre-translation analysis of texts, and translation from a prepared sheet. The final module assessments consist of exams. The evaluation criteria for each assessment form are detailed in the course syllabus.
