Learning outcomes
PLO 2. To have deep knowledge of the official (Ukrainian) and foreign languages for the written and oral communication purposes, professional and scientific communication in particular; to present research results in the official (Ukrainian) and foreign languages.
PLO 6. To apply knowledge of expressive, emotional and logical linguistic means, and speech techniques in order to achieve planned pragmatic results and establish successful communication.
PLO 14. To create, analyze and edit texts of different styles and genres.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful mastery of the discipline "Second Eastern language (Arabic). Practical course" (from educational program of OS bachelor); knowledge of the Arabic alphabet, linguistic terminology for the identification and analysis of linguistic phenomena.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to provide students with practical mastery of the rules of elementary grammar of the second Eastern language (Turkish) for further use of it for scientific purposes, as well as various types of speech activity, i.e. to operate dialogic and monologic speech within the scope of the topics covered during the entire period of study of this discipline; to read and understand adapted Turkish texts of scientific and socio-political direction.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Practical lessons in the Turkish language are aimed to the development of phonetic, lexical and grammatical skills of the students of Iranian Studies in the process of active work in the classroom. Control of students’ mastering lexical and grammatical material is carried out via oral communication and written tasks, tests, lexical dictations, and modular control works. Homework and translation exercises are mandatory.
Assessment methods and criteria
Semestral assessment is based on the oral testing, written assignments, translation exercises - 36/60 points, modular test papers - 12/20 points, final test paper - 12/20 points. The credit is given based on the results of the student’s work throughout the entire semester and does not include additional assessment measures. Students who scored 60 points, the required minimum, receive “passed”. Students who failed to score 60 points, the required minimum, receive “failed”. Those students who scored totally less than 60 points during the semester period should complete a test paper in the items which he/she failed to pass. Final score 60-100 – passed; 0-59 - failed.
