Learning outcomes
PR06. To know the latest methods and instrumental means of ecological research, including methods and means of mathematical and geo-informational modeling PR08. Be able to clearly and unambiguously convey professional knowledge, own justifications and conclusions to specialists and the general public. PR10. Demonstrate awareness of the latest principles and methods of environmental protection. PR11. Be able to use modern information resources on ecology, nature management and environmental protection. PR13. Be able to assess the potential impact of man-made objects and economic activities on the environment.
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Before starting this course, students of higher education should know the basics of environmental safety and rational nature management, the features of environmental impact of various industries, approaches and methods of assessing the level of environmental hazards of industrial facilities, methods of analysis and assessment of environmental aspects and impacts. 2. To be able to independently identify sources of environmental hazards, perform an analysis of environmental protection activities at the enterprise and evaluate its effectiveness, determine significant environmental aspects of the enterprise's activities. 3. Have the skills to present the results of one's activities.
Course content
This is a complex discipline based on a system of knowledge about the principles and approaches of prevention and/or elimination (minimization) of man-made and anthropogenic loads on the environment from industrial facilities in order to preserve the ecological balance and improve the ecological state of the natural environment. The proposed environmental protection solutions correspond to the principles of sustainable development and accumulate modern scientific, methodological, regulatory and practical achievements regarding the greening of production.
