Learning outcomes
PLO 8. To know and to understand the system of ancient Greek, Latin and foreign languages, the general properties of literature as an art of words, the history of ancient Greek and Latin languages and literature, to be able to apply the knowledge in professional activities. PLO 13. To analyze and to interpret ancient literature works, to determine their specificity and the position in the literary process. PLO 22. To understand the role and the place of classical languages and literatures in the context of the European linguistic and cultural space, in the development strategies of the latest scientific paradigm and modern civilization.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful completion of courses: "Introduction to Literary Studies", "Ukrainian and Foreign Culture", "Ancient Mythology and Modernity". A necessary condition for access to the discipline "Ancient plots in Ukrainian literature" is the following student competencies: Know: • basics of literary analysis of artistic works; • concepts of "reception", "motive", "plot", "genre", "intertextuality", etc.; • leading signs of styles and directions in the history of literature. Be able • orally and in writing formulate considerations regarding the genre features of artistic works; • analyze genre and style features of artistic works, their themes, issues, etc.; • independently select and critically interpret professional literature. Have elementary skills • professional philological analysis; • apply the acquired knowledge in practice (while writing essays, tests, etc.).
Course content
The educational discipline "Ancient plots in Ukrainian literature" highlights the peculiarities of the reception of ancient plots in the history of Ukrainian literature at various stages of its development, in the best creative practices (for example, the works of Lesya Ukrainka, Ivan Franko, Taras Shevchenko, Mykola Zerov, etc.). The discipline introduces students to the trends in the development of world and Ukrainian literary processes, the trends in the development of images and motifs from ancient literature in the domestic literary process. The discipline is designed to deepen students' knowledge of the Ukrainian literary process, to improve their skills in the analysis of artistic works, critical understanding of specialized literature, etc.

Assessment methods and criteria
The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student in the process of learning the material from the entire educational course. The overall grade for the semester consists of points received for classroom work, independent creative works (abstract, presentation) and the final test. All types of work for the semester have as a result: ● in the maximum dimension of 100 points, ● a minimum of 60 points. In case of absence from the practical session, the student must complete the task for the practical session in written form. • Final assessment: credit
