Learning outcomes
PRN 17. Collect, analyze, systematize and interpret the facts of language and speech and use them to solve complex problems and problems in specialized areas of professional activity and/or learning. PRN 20. Know the problems of modern Polonistics as a separate direction of Slavic studies and demonstrate a holistic system of professional knowledge that determines the social significance of the future profession. PRN 22.2. Have the skills to interpret and translate Polish and Lithuanian texts of various styles and genres. PRN 23.2. Apply knowledge from the field of Balto-Slavic linguistic and cultural continuum in the practice of translation. PRN 24.2. Apply methods and strategies established in translation studies for oral and written translation.

Course content
The educational discipline "Introduction to Translation Studies" aims to reveal the general issues of the theory of translation, to form among philology students a professional understanding of this philological discipline, which emphasizes the recognition and adequate translation of content, stylistic, sociolinguistic, pragmatic and psycholinguistic features of the original and translation, takes into account
