Learning outcomes
PRN 1. Communicate freely on professional issues with specialists and non-specialists in the state, Polish, English and Lithuanian languages orally and in writing, use them to organize effective intercultural communication. PRN 20. Know the problems of modern Polonistics as a separate direction of Slavic studies and demonstrate a holistic system of professional knowledge that determines the social significance of the future profession. PRN 21. To know and understand the role and place of the Polish language and literature, English and Lithuanian languages in the European linguistic and cultural space in the context of modern civilizational development and the latest paradigm of social and humanitarian knowledge. PRN 22.2. To know the culturally determined factors that shape the relationship between communicators in the conditions of various communicative situations for adequate reproduction in translation from Polish and Lithuanian languages. PRN 23.2.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
The student must successfully master the basic linguistic concepts; principles of language material analysis; peculiarities of semantics, structure and functioning of units of all levels of the Polish language; basics of communication theory; to be able to: analyze a language text in a linguistic-stylistic aspect; to possess elementary skills of selection, analysis and interpretation of cultural facts reflected in language; communication on linguistic topics.
Course content
The educational discipline is designed to acquaint students with the problems of the culture of the language (and speech) of Polish speakers. The task of the discipline is to acquaint students with the concepts of "language culture" and "speech culture", "usus" and "norm", "innovation" and "error", criteria of language culture, problems of language codification, stylistic differentiation of the Polish language, linguistic consciousness and position about the native language. The study of this discipline, firstly, allows deepening and clarifying the knowledge acquired by students in the process of mastering other subjects, primarily the linguistic cycle, and secondly, provides an opportunity to obtain basic knowledge and master the skills of professional activity in the relevant fields.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course is delivered with the help of such activities as oral reports and written tests. The teaching methods are lectures, seminars, creative and research projects, students’ individual work
Assessment methods and criteria
The form of final control is intermediate control The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student during the semester. The overall grade for the semester consists of points received for classroom work (oral answers, tests) and for independent work. During the semester, a student can receive a minimum of 60 points and a maximum of 100 points.
