To characterize the dialectal and social varieties of the Arabic language, describe the sociolinguistic situation in the countries of the Arab East. PLO 21. To apply knowledge of linguistic and regional studies of the countries of Arab East, history of relations between Ukraine and the countries of the East.

Course content
The goal of the discipline is to form a general idea of linguistic and regional studies in students as an interdisciplinary field of knowledge, providing students with an ordered system of knowledge about countries of the Arab world, necessary for the development of intercultural communication skills, formation of students' totality of knowledge about modern ideological, social and political, the cultural and economic life of the countries of the Arab world from the standpoint of the linguistic and regional studies approach, systematization of students' sociolinguistic knowledge.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Training takes place in the form of interactive lectures and seminar classes. Students' independent work involves preparation for such types of activities as answers to seminar classes, participation in discussions, reports with analysis of scientific literature, presentations or essays on topics proposed for study.
Assessment methods and criteria
Semester evaluation is based on: answers in seminar classes, participation in discussions, reports with analysis of scientific literature, presentations / essays - 24/40 points; modular test papers – 24/40 points, final test paper – 12/20 points (total 100 points). The credit is given based on the results of the student's work throughout the entire semester and does not include additional assessment measures. Students who scored the minimum positive number of points - 60, receive the grade "enrolled". Students who did not score the minimum positive number of points - 60, receive "not enrolled". Students who scored a total of less than 60 points during the semester must compose material on the topics for which the debt arose, in the form of writing an independent work, in order to pass the credit. Scale of conformity of final points: 60-100 – passed; 0-59 - not counted.
