Before starting this course, students should know the main stages and characteristics of philosophical and religious processes; basic religious theories and methods and techniques of religious studies, including dialectical method, interdisciplinary, etc.; basic religious concepts and categories; foundations of historical-philosophical theory. Be able to collect and interpret information about non-traditional phenomena and phenomena of religion, religious processes and events; apply the main terms, categories and classifications of religious studies in the process of analyzing the latest religious and socio-cultural phenomena and processes; to reveal modern trends of coexistence of different religions and confessions in the conditions of globalization and intercultural dialogue, to predict the prospects of their mutual relations, taking into account the peculiarities of the course of religious processes in the conditions of globalization.

"Scientific seminar on religious studies" belongs to the list of disciplines of free choice of students and is taught in the 4th semester of the master's degree. Academic discipline acquaints students with the basics of religious studies in the field of interpretations of the concepts of "good" and "evil", the methodology and methods of their research. The subject, tasks, theoretical foundations, methodologies, main directions and problems of both modern and former problems of "non-traditional knowledge" are determined. The principles of analysis of philosophical and religious problems are considered. The peculiarities of Western European and Eastern mystical experience are explained.
